Trident Maple Bonsai
The Trident Maple Bonsai is one of our favourites! They produce vibrant green foliage once they begin vigorous growth in the spring. In the fall, these bonsai turn a bright orange colour. And like all deciduous trees, the Trident Maple Bonsai sheds its leaves come winter.
Watering
Never let a bonsai totally dry out. Water your bonsai properly by using a watering can or hose attachment that has a fine-spray end. You should thoroughly soak your bonsai's soil. Water should be running out of the drain holes. Misting foliage periodically is recommended, but shouldn't be considered watering.
Winter Care
Your Trident Maple Bonsai must remain outdoors during wintertime. This bonsai should be allowed to freeze, however, we recommend keeping it out of the north wind and "Heeling In" the pot. "Heeling In" means covering the pots with either mulch or burlap. This enables the Green Mound Juniper Bonsai to experience a seasonal change without freezing or thawing too quickly.
Fertilizing & General Care
Fertilizing the Trident Maple Bonsai is desirable ?especially in the spring. General care is also important for beautiful bonsai maintenance. In order to keep their miniature shape, bonsai should be trimmed periodically.
Insects & Diseases
Insects and diseases can attack your Trident Maple Bonsai, so it's a good idea to inspect your bonsai regularly. A brisk spraying of the trunk and foliage periodically helps keep your tree clean. If any problems appear, most garden centres have products available for treatment.
